Room for More: Creating Space for Healing and Hope at Mustard Seed House

We are thrilled to share with you the latest updates on the expansion of Mustard Seed House, a Christian charitable project dedicated to serving sick and suffering patients and their families in Kenya. With the incredible support of donors like you, we have made significant progress in our mission to provide distinctly Christian care and create a safe haven for those in need.

Mustard Seed House, situated near Tenwek Hospital in Kenya, serves as a refuge for families who travel long distances to seek medical care for their loved ones. These families often arrive as strangers in an unfamiliar place, praying to God for healing. Mustard Seed House, with its compassionate Christian care, provides a haven where they can hear the Gospel and find a supportive community during their challenging journey.

Since its inception as a humble 3-bedroom rented house in January 2021, Mustard Seed House has expanded to accommodate more families. In June 2023, we added a second 3-bedroom house, allowing us to reach even more patients and their families. However, the demand for our services continues to grow, and we are determined to meet the pressing need for additional space.

The vision for Mustard Seed House includes constructing a permanent facility that will serve as a beacon of hope and healing for countless families. We have embarked on the “Room for More” capital campaign to raise the necessary funds for the land purchase and construction of the permanent facility.

In May 2022, Faith Aid launched Phase 0 of the “Room for More” Campaign, successfully raising $250,000. This achievement allowed us to purchase a 3-acre property adjacent to Tenwek Hospital, where we envision establishing a permanent ministry center. On Saturday, April 8, 2023, we gathered with stakeholders to dedicate this land to the Glory of God, planting trees as a symbol of new beginnings and offering prayers for God’s continued provision.

The acquisition of this property marks a significant milestone in our journey, but there is much work ahead. Currently, the Faith Aid Kenya team is utilizing the land to grow food for Mustard Seed House guests until funds are raised to begin construction. We are excited to announce that Phase 1 of the “Room for More” Campaign will launch in Fall 2023, aiming to construct the first buildings on the property.
