Cloth Diapers for Mustard Seed House: Blessing Kenyan Children with Love and Care

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who purchased cloth diapers and contributed to our recent diaper drive for Mustard Seed House in Kenya. Your generosity and support have made a significant impact on the lives of the children and families receiving care at Mustard Seed House. Through your kind donations, we were able to provide cloth diaper kits for 93 children, ensuring they have a clean and hygienic environment while undergoing medical treatment.

Mustard Seed House at Tenwek Hospital welcomes sick and suffering children from across the region. These children often have to travel long distances to receive the medical care they need. The dedicated staff at Mustard Seed House open their doors in Jesus’ name, providing a place of comfort, support, and healing for the patients and their families.

Cloth diapers play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at Mustard Seed House. In a country where many families struggle with poverty, disposable diapers are often beyond their means. By providing cloth diapers, we are giving these families a practical and reusable solution. A single cloth diaper can be washed up to 400 times, ensuring that the families we serve will continue to benefit from this gift long after their stay at Mustard Seed House.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, we collected an incredible amount of supplies. In total, we gathered 410 prefold diapers, 240 inserts, 174 covers, 140 fasteners, and 46 wet bags. Praise God for His abundant blessings! The diapers were carefully counted, packed, and sent on their way to Mustard Seed House in Kenya.

A mission team from Our Savior’s Way Lutheran Church carried 150 pounds of new cloth diapers in donated suitcases on their trip. Additionally, a few weeks later, a generous individual selflessly utilized their baggage allowance to transport another 50 pound suitcase of diapers to Kenya.

Once the cloth diapers arrived, the impact on the mothers and their babies was profound. The mothers were overjoyed to receive cloth diapers for their children, knowing that they could now provide them with the care and cleanliness they deserve.

As we reflect on the success of this diaper drive, we encourage other churches and communities to consider sending short-term mission teams to serve at Mustard Seed House. The need for support and care is ongoing, and your involvement can make a lasting impact on the lives of these children and their families. Together, we can continue to spread the love of Christ and provide hope to those who need it most.

Once again, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the cloth diaper drive. Your generosity has made a tangible difference in the lives of the children at Mustard Seed House. Let us continue to lift them up in prayer and seek further opportunities to serve and bless others in need.

If your church or community is interested in supporting Mustard Seed House or sending a mission team, please reach out to us. Together, let us be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to those who are hurting.
