Mustard Seed House Expansion is Underway!
Mustard Seed House is a Christian ministry that provides care and support for families in Kenya with children who are sick.
Phase 1 construction began in September 2025, and we praise God who has provided every step of the way! Now, a generous $200,000 matching gift has challenged us to raise the funds needed to launch Phase 2 — and we must meet this goal by December 31, 2025.
Phase 2 will expand our capacity to 192 guests each night, making room for even more patients and families traveling from across Africa in search of healing. Every day and every dollar counts — because through this expansion, each guest will not only receive care and comfort but also hear about the true healing that only Jesus can provide.

Our Vision
Today, our official capacity in rented houses is just 48 guests per night. These houses are overcrowded and out of space. Yet by 2027, based on the growing number of patients traveling to Tenwek for medical care, we will need the capacity to host 250 people every night.
To meet this need, we have carefully crafted a Master Plan—one that expands our capacity while preserving the Gospel-centered hospitality that makes Mustard Seed House a life-changing experience. This plan will allow us to welcome 250 patients and caregivers each night with shelter, meals, prayer, and the love of Christ.
Here’s the path forward:
- Phase 1 (now under construction): expands capacity to 130 guests nightly.
- Phase 2: builds additional housing, increasing to 192 guests nightly.
- Phase 3: completes the vision at 255 guests nightly, as we fully transition out of rented houses into permanent homes.
As we celebrate the groundbreaking of Phase 1, we are already mobilizing resources for Phase 2, trusting God to provide so that no family seeking healing is ever turned away.

Your Questions Answered
AGC Tenwek Hospital is serving more patients than ever, and many families arrive with nowhere to stay. Mustard Seed House is already full most nights, and the need keeps growing. By 2027, we’ll need room for at least 250 guests each night. Phase 2 will increase our capacity to 192 — giving more families a safe place to rest, share a meal, and hear the hope of the Gospel as they walk through sickness and suffering.
Mustard Seed House currently operates out of two rented houses with space for 48 guests each night, yet we’re already serving more than twice that number. The ministry is thriving—welcoming patients and families daily with shelter, meals, and the love of Christ. Construction on Phase 1 began in September 2025, adding 12 bedrooms and a kitchen and dining hall, with completion expected by June 2026.
Your gift to this matching campaign will help launch Phase 2, the largest step in our Room for More capital campaign. This phase includes a second 12-bedroom Mustard Seed House and a Mission House for visiting teams and volunteers. The Mission House will help sustain the ministry by generating local income to support patient care. Every matched gift builds toward our $1,060,000 Phase 2 goal, creating space and support for more families in need.

Pledges are eligible only if payment is received by December 31, 2025.
