Under Five

Questions & Answers

Can you tell me more about your organization?

Faith Aid moves mountains for vulnerable children in Africa. Our organization is founded on Christ’s promise, that “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move” (Matthew 17:20). Our vision is a world where no child dies from treatable conditions.

What is Under Five?

Under Five saves the lives of African children suffering from preventable or treatable conditions.  Across Kenya, community health workers, pastors, churches, hospitals, and organizations refer the most desperate children and families to Under Five.

What does the “Under Five” name mean?

Across the world, the under-five mortality rate measures the probability of dying between birth and 5 years of age. While much progress has been made globally to reduce under-five mortality rates, the highest rates of child mortality are still in Sub-Saharan Africa where 1 in 9 children dies before age five. Children under five are among the most vulnerable and voiceless in society. Under Five focuses on child survival and treatment for African children 5 years of age and younger.

How does Under Five help suffering children and their families?

Under Five will support suffering children and their families with access to medical care and treatment. Gifts from campaigns cover costs associated with patient transportation, hospital stay, surgery, and recovery.
