Faith Aid Releases Updated Master Plan for Mustard Seed House Tenwek Expansion

Over the past eight months, Faith Aid’s Mustard Seed House expansion team has worked diligently to complete a comprehensive Master Plan to expand Mustard Seed House Tenwek and meet the urgent needs of patients and families seeking treatment at AGC Tenwek Hospital.

The Master Planning process was intentional and thorough—built on months of in-depth discussions with stakeholders, capacity planning and projections of future needs, interviews with beneficiaries, and consultations with experts. One of the guiding principles that shaped every decision was this question: How do we grow to serve more patients without losing the one-on-one ministry, warmth, community, and family spirit that make the Mustard Seed House ministry special?

Our answer was a design that scales capacity while preserving that personal touch: three Mustard Seed Houses, each with a ground-floor unit and an upstairs unit, surrounded by shared spaces that foster connection.

The Master Plan is being implemented in multiple phases. Phase 0—covering the land purchase, construction of a perimeter wall, well drilling, site master planning, and staff housing—is now complete. Phase 1, set to begin in August 2025, will launch the construction of Mustard Seed House #1 together with a Kitchen and Fellowship Hall, creating space for shared meals, devotions, and community gatherings. Phase 2 will add Mustard Seed House #2, a Mission House to host volunteers and visiting teams, along with a Laundry and Bathroom Block. Phase 3 will complete Mustard Seed House #3, with an area already reserved for a future Mustard Seed House Chapel to be funded through a separate fundraising campaign.

With patient numbers rising steadily, our current rented facilities are now hosting more than double their intended capacity. The expanded facilities depicted in our Master Plan will ensure Mustard Seed House Tenwek can meet today’s urgent needs while anticipating future demand. By 2027, we need to be able to host 250 guests every night.

The Mustard Seed House Tenwek Master Plan is more than construction—it is a mission to share the Gospel, extend healing, and offer practical Christian hospitality to every patient and family we serve, so that all who are ill can experience the love of Christ. Our campaign goal is to raise $2.75 million to make this vision a reality, ensuring we can welcome tens of thousands of patients from across Africa with Christ-centered care for years to come.
