About this Project

Restoring Hearing, Breathing, and Speaking

There is a severe shortage of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) care in rural Kenya, with only one ENT specialist serving approximately 1.2 million people.

Tenwek Hospital is a major referral center for specialized services, including Ear, Nose, and Throat care. Patients travel long distances to receive treatment for conditions affecting the head and neck, including disorders that impact hearing, breathing, speech, and swallowing.

Through the Tenwek ENT HEAL Account, Faith Aid helps remove the financial barriers to life-changing surgery, ensuring that the most vulnerable patients receive the specialized care they need, regardless of their ability to pay.

Transparency

How do HEAL Accounts work?

Funds in HEAL Accounts can only be spent on behalf of impoverished patients.

100% of funds donated goes to the project — Faith Aid (US) does not take any percentage for administration.

All beneficiaries must undergo a robust assessment by our case coordinators.

All beneficiaries must give sacrificially toward their own care — our case coordinators work with patients and their families to determine what that means.

Faith Aid has a grant agreement with Tenwek Hospital that pays for medical care on behalf of impoverished patients.

Faith Aid's stewardship of funds on behalf of impoverished patients is recognized as the gold standard in accountability and best-practices.
